A highly sensitive person perceives the world differently. Bad news, sad scenes, bright colors, loud sounds have a devastating effect on the psyche. It is perfectly normal to be highly sensitive. However, in order to remain happy, you need to consider your uniqueness.
1. Slow and simple pace of life. Highly sensitive people (HSPs) process information more deeply. It takes more time to complete even simple tasks. When considering what to buy in a store, HSPs take into account not only choice, price, but also their attitude and feelings. For example, chicken noodles can be reminiscent of affected animals. This kind of thinking takes time.
2. Rest after work. HSPs cannot work too long. The brain absorbs layers of information and processes it ad infinitum. The person is overwhelmed, worn out at the end of a busy day. The opportunity to relax restores sanity.
3. Time to adjust to change. Change can be tough for everyone. For HSPs, the need to readjust is a source of stress. Even positive changes, such as starting a relationship or moving to a new home, require a long period of adaptation.
4. Trusting relationship. Highly sensitive people crave deep connections. They are bored or anxious in a relationship that doesn't matter, but they don't tend to break up. Most likely, they will start a frank conversation with a loved one, they will work to establish intimacy. It also means that HSPs are selective, not everyone is allowed into their lives.
5. A good night's sleep. Lack of sleep makes you careless, moody, unproductive. For a highly sensitive person, life becomes especially bitter. A good night's rest soothes, cleanses and restores emotions.
6. Healthy eating. The feeling of hunger quickly worsens your mood, deprives you of the ability to concentrate. In order not to turn into a voracious monster, food should be taken often, regularly, throughout the day. Of course, consider serving size and food ingredients. The main thing is not to starve. It is better to abstain from caffeine and alcohol.
7. Creativity. Many HSPs have a need to be creative. They direct their experiences, observations, ideas to painting, poetry or music. Let your creativity out through hobbies, hobbies, work.
8. Soft ways to resolve conflicts. Relationship discord causes an internal battle. HSPs can hide strong feelings because they don't want to offend the other person. A high level of empathy is just one of the reasons for difficult mental anguish. Highly sensitive people often hide their needs in order to deal with the situation faster. It is good when close people understand and respect the sensitive character.
9. Sense of purpose. It is unthinkable for an HSP to drift through life without direction. They reflect on the structure of the world, the meaning of life. They cannot do without a work that they believe in.
10. Nature and beauty. Green spaces are soothing and uplifting. Chaos or an unsightly environment is frustrating. Beauty is like a balm for the soul: heals and pacifies.
