A person immersed in depression has two options for the development of events: the first is to plunge into it completely and drown, the second is to gradually get out of it. My author's system for getting out of depression consists of six stages, for which minimal volitional effort is required. There is no need to rush and make sudden "movements". It is necessary to get out of depression slowly, consolidating each stage.
According to the medical dictionary, depression is a painful condition, manifested by mental (depressed mood, slowing down of mental processes) and physical (decreased general tone, slowness of movement, digestive disorders, sleep) disorders.
Depression has several states - from mild, similar to a bad mood due to changes in the weather, to pronounced, with sharp outbursts of emotions. An acute depressive state can be generated by the confluence of several stresses or a long stay in a stressful situation. In many cases, the depth of immersion is influenced by our "dislike" in childhood. Remember, when you were sick, you were sorry. As you sink into depression, you unconsciously want to re-experience these emotions.
Depression is a disease that must be treated, it leads to a loss of orientation in life and can completely change a person's life, not for the better. Man is hormonal biochemistry. During depression, changes occur at the chemical level, sometimes irreversible, they lead to oncology, diabetes and other diseases closely related to the psyche. In this article, I will cover the stages of self-recovery from depression. A person immersed in depression has two options for the development of events: one is to plunge into it completely and drown, the second is to gradually get out of it. My depression recovery system consists of six stages that require minimal volitional effort. There is no need to rush and make sudden "movements". It is necessary to get out of depression slowly, consolidating each stage. Haste or piling up all the stages at once can only aggravate the situation, a person will finally give up, cultivating a sense of guilt.
- The first step is to acknowledge that you have a medical condition that needs treatment. The goal of the stage is to understand that negative chemical processes are taking place that lead to more complex diseases.
- The second stage is to make a list of relatives, friends, acquaintances with whom you have developed friendly communication. The goal of the stage is to free your brain from "unnecessary" thoughts, to verbalize them - to translate them into verbal form. The main thing in such communication is to understand that you need to speak out, now this is the primary hidden need. At this stage, some people will refuse to communicate with you. But you don't need to focus your attention on this. They all have their own problems too. But the rest will remain your friends for life. If there are no such people, then use a notebook.
- The third step is to make a list of the people with whom you talked most often. Analyze it, think about which of them is taking your energy, and who is sharing it with you. Exclude from further communication those people from whom you receive more negative emotions than positive ones.
- The fourth stage - get creative, try to do something with your hands. And this something must have an end result. For example, men assemble model cars, do house repairs, women create clothes, pour candles, and create jewelry.
- Fifth stage - take care of your body. Analyze the condition of your body, take a notebook and describe it. Below, write how you can change the things in your body that you don't like. It's about physical condition, not plastic surgery. Daily walks are required. At this stage, it is necessary to adjust the diet, exclude fast carbohydrates, and increase the amount of plant foods. It's time to engage mindfulness. Mindfulness helps to include will, it defines goals - the first steps towards the meaning of life. During a period of depression, a person devalues his life, awareness helps in a positive perception of the world around him.
- Sixth step - get busy with your studies. These can be courses, seminars, trainings, or even university education. This stage has two main goals: to get the brain to create replacement neural connections; change the social circle, raise it to a higher level.
When depressed, it is very important to refrain from taking antidepressants. Believe me, external intervention will not solve your internal problems, you will have to deal with them, there is no magic pill.
To summarize the above. The algorithm for getting out of depression consists of 6 steps:
1. Recognition of the disease;
2. Expression (living) of feelings;
3. Analysis of the environment and the elimination of unnecessary;
4. Shifting attention to motor skills - creative activity;
5. Analysis of the physical condition and its correction;
6. Creation of conditions for growth, new social ties.
At all stages, it is necessary to use the energy resources around you.
