Instructions

Step 1

Forget about using alcohol as a stress reliever. Drinking will not help you truly relax. Remember that alcoholic beverages are powerful depressants. In conditions of increased stress, their use can only exacerbate the situation. There are many safe remedies for true relaxation.

Step 2

Find an outlet for your emotions. If you feel that the past day brought you a lot of negativity, do not accumulate it in yourself and do not hold back negative feelings. Hide from prying eyes and shout or break a couple of plates. There are more civilized ways to release emotions: beat a punching bag in the gym, run, sing heartily in karaoke, or dance for a couple of hours. Get your body to move actively.

Step 3

Switch to simple, repetitive work. This can be cleaning the apartment, ironing the linen, cleaning the festive service, sorting things out in the closet. These actions are very calming and relaxing. In addition, they have unconditional practical use. This is a clean apartment and order around.

Step 4

Listen to good music. Seek moral support for your favorite tracks or discover new artists. You might like something from folk or classical music, blues or jazz, country or romance, rap, pop or rock. The main thing is that the music brings strong positive emotions and is to your taste.

Step 5

Watch a good, life-affirming movie. It can be a great, light comedy or drama that makes you think about the meaning of life. The main thing is that the plot sets you up in an optimistic mood. Films such as Amelie, Life is Beautiful, Always Say Yes, 1 + 1 and other works of classic and modern cinema will help you to relax. Avoid watching action films, news bulletins, or crime stories. By the way, contrary to popular belief, horror movies can help you cope with stress. By experiencing strong emotions while watching them, you get rid of the accumulated negativity. The main thing is that the plot is as implausible as possible, and the movie is perceived as a terrible fairy tale.

Step 6

Get yourself a spa. Dim the lights, light some scented candles and self-massage. Sit comfortably on the sofa and use the palm of one hand to massage the back of your neck and shoulder. Then repeat everything on the other side. Rub your palms together, knead each finger alternately on both hands, and then the surface of the palm. Stretch your feet. Massage your scalp with your fingers. After such manipulations, you are guaranteed to feel better. The main thing is not to rush and set aside at least twenty minutes for the massage.
