Many of the people lied, lie and will lie. But sometimes deception can be exposed. There are several ways to recognize a lie: verbal, psychophysiological and non-verbal.
The verbal method (verbal) is a check of the coordination of the information supplied and the non-verbal method: for example, gestures.
The psychophysiological method is the manifestation of changes in the work of external organs. This method is impossible to control.
The non-verbal way is a change in behavior, facial expressions, gestures, both at the external and internal (physiological) levels.
The best way to this day is a lie detector test. In the absence of a pocket device, in everyday life, an ordinary person can recognize a liar by some signs.
For example, psychophysiological signs:
- trembling or raising or lowering the intonation of the voice;
- the appearance of atypical verbal turns;
- felt excitement in the voice;
- pauses appearing when answering difficult questions or answering too quickly;
- the appearance of droplets of sweat over the upper or forehead;
- frequent swallowing of saliva;
- twitching of facial muscles (eyebrow, lip, eyelid), etc.
Non-verbal signs:
- rubbing hands, scratching the head, neck, earlobes, nose, eyes;
- nervous biting of lips, nails;
- fear of looking into the eyes of the interlocutor;
- fiddles with a button on clothes, nervously twists a pen in his hand, etc.
Verbal signs:
- avoidance of specifying certain facts;
- persistent emphasis on his innocence or honesty, demanding confirmation from the interlocutor that he believes him;
- rudeness, manifestation of hostility when talking about the interlocutor, etc.
