Probably, many who first heard the beautiful word "graphology" unwittingly associate it with "graphomania", but this is completely wrong! Consonance is fraught with a fundamental difference in meanings. Graphology is considered a poorly studied area of either psychology, or medicine, or forensics, or perhaps characterology along with physiognomy and palmistry.
The very word "graphology", like many others, has come down to us from the ancient Greek language: γράφω - "I write", λόγος - "teaching", that is, the teaching about writing. This is a set of certain techniques that, when applied together, make it possible to determine the psychological characteristics of a person by handwriting. Perhaps it would be more correct to call this science "psychographology".
In modern science, this teaching is considered pseudoscientific. Nevertheless, for many years, graphology has aroused keen interest among the most diverse public, and this interest arose back in the days of antiquity. And how can not be attractive the opportunity to "see through" a person, barely looking at his handwriting! For example, the thickness of the ink lines can identify the authenticity of a will or a murder disguised as suicide by the location of the text on a suicide note. Likewise, based on the peculiarities of handwriting, HR services can identify an unreliable employee in advance. A psychological analysis of the handwritings of famous people leads to an interesting conclusion: it turns out that true talent and genius are invariably accompanied by mental deviations. So, according to one of the recognized handwriting experts, among the brilliant Russian writers - only Pushkin was completely healthy.
