There are situations in your work where you, as a professional in your field, find the boss's decision wrong. However, it is not so easy to say a firm "no" to the manager.
Instructions
Step 1
Your inner attitude is extremely important. You need to clearly understand what goals you are pursuing by refusing to order from your superiors, because the phrase "I just don't want to do this" is not an argument. Consider your speech in advance so that it sounds weighty and confident. If necessary, write on paper a list of your proposals so that at the right time they will be guided by them, and not by emotions.
Step 2
Be prepared for constructive dialogue, be extremely frank and open to compromise. Try to abstract yourself from the personality of the leader and from the relationship between you. You are giving up on a certain decision made by him, rather than saying "no" directly to his person. At the same time, if you fail to convince your boss, also remember that he did not refuse you personally, but only your proposal, your idea.
Step 3
Deal with your fears and insecurities that make you say yes in those moments that require a categorical no. Try to analyze what exactly you are afraid of - losing your job, ruined relationship with your boss? To understand your fears means to be halfway to complete victory over them, and only a courageous person can become successful both in his career and in all aspects of life.
