We do many things in life out of habit. There are very healthy habits, such as brushing your teeth twice a day. And there are those who spoil our lives. We are aware of this, but laziness and banal weak-willedness make us look for thousands of excuses for such a reason we cannot give up the way of life that we lead.
Instructions
Step 1
Don't start reshaping your life on Monday, no matter how logical and convenient it may seem. Monday is already the most difficult day of the week, because you will have to go to work after the unnoticed weekend and force yourself to enter the work rhythm again, to solve the accumulated problems. And then you still have to distract from more pressing issues in order to unlearn, for example, biting your nails.
Step 2
Tell your loved ones that you want to change your life for the better.
Step 3
The habit is formed within forty days. And all these forty days you will have to limit yourself in something, wean yourself from something. This will take a certain amount of time and effort. Make a list:
1. What you want to get out of the habit;
2. Why do you want to break the habit;
3. What are you really ready to take to achieve what you want (here we describe in detail all the stages, for example, gradually reducing the number of smoked cigarettes per day);
4. What will you do when you succeed.
Step 4
Try to fill the gap of time that you devoted to the bad habit, fill it with something useful and exciting. If you want to go for a snack out of habit, and not because you actually felt an acute attack of hunger, try to drink a glass of water and do the cleaning, go for a walk, just not along a number of pastry shops and cafes, of course.
Step 5
Think of how to reward yourself for the suffering you endure. But only buns, cigarettes and the like that are not related to the eradicated habit.
Step 6
If you give yourself indulgences, then, first of all, deceive yourself, and not someone else. And you, in the end, will not see the long-awaited result. Follow the clearly laid out plan by you.
