The desire to change yourself usually arises from dissatisfaction with your life and yourself. However, this can be extremely difficult to do. Established relationships with others, habits and established worldview do not allow a person to change. But with the right approach, good results can be achieved.
Instructions
Step 1
If you decide to change yourself, answer yourself the question, why did you decide to do this? What problems do you have and what exactly do you want to change? Make a list of what you like about yourself. If you find it difficult to do this on your own, ask someone from the outside. Then think about the things you would like to change. Also write down the reasons why you want to make these changes.
Step 2
Set specific goals for yourself. Vagueness in the wording will not allow you to change, you will not know what to strive for. For example, if you decide to lose weight, tell yourself to what limits, and in what time frame you are going to do it. If the goal is abstract, for example, you lack self-confidence, replace it with something concrete. For example, tell yourself that you want to stop being shy about talking to people you don't know.
Step 3
Start changing today, do not postpone change for the future, otherwise you will never start doing it. The reasons why you are postponing changes can be different. However, if you don't feel that postponing changes is a problem, reconsider them, do you really need them?
Step 4
Get out of your comfort zone, it will be almost impossible to change yourself without this. Being in an unusual environment that makes you feel uncomfortable will make you think in a new way, do new things for you, etc. This is already a sign that you are changing. At the same time, you must remember your goal and act in accordance with it. For example, if you want to get rid of self-doubt, be in public more often, talk to strangers, make new acquaintances, etc.
Step 5
Changing yourself is difficult, your brain is trained to think in a certain way. To change your mindset, you need to constantly remind yourself what you want and regularly motivate yourself. Start each day with a mental statement in the form of words directly related to the desired change. For example, if you consider yourself too passive, you probably want to change that. In this case, tell yourself that you want a drive, you can't wait to do something, you need to go somewhere. Such words will set you up for more action.
Step 6
Try to stay realistic and don't expect momentary changes. Most likely, many obstacles await you, for sure, there will be people who will interfere with you. Their words will undermine your resolve to change. This is a natural part of this process. There are problems and failures in any business. Your task is not to give up and move towards your goal. Be patient and enjoy the slightest change for the better. They tell you that you are on the right track.
