Each person has bad habits, but not everyone tries to get rid of them, and only a few really succeed. There are several ways to beat your bad habits. Try them, and one of them will certainly help you.
Instructions
Step 1
Analyze your behavior and decide what bad habits you would like to get rid of. Think about how these habits are getting in your way. For example, if you bite your nails in a stressful situation, your hands will look ugly. If you eat with your mouth open or chomp, you will feel uncomfortable at a table at a party or in a restaurant. If you smoke, you have to spend a lot of money on cigarettes, and you endanger your health. Consider your behavior and understand why you would like to get rid of your bad habit. Remember this every time you feel like biting your nails, smoking a cigarette, etc. and stop yourself.
Step 2
A very effective method is to replace bad habits with useful ones. A habit is an action that has been made automatic. Choose a good habit: jogging in the morning, daily contrast shower, regular nail care, morning exercises, etc. Start to perform the chosen action regularly and gradually replace the bad habit with a useful one. For example, if you feel like biting your nails, think back to your new grooming habit. Imagine how you have achieved a result thanks to your healthy habit, how friends and colleagues admire your hands and great manicure, how they compliment you. If you are used to getting up half an hour before the trip to work, in a hurry to drink coffee and swallow breakfast, to get ready quickly, then start getting up an hour and a half earlier than usual to do exercises, run a little, take a shower, and eat calmly.
Step 3
Try to eradicate the bad habit: stop buying cigarettes, spend a lot of money on high-quality manicure, which will be a pity to spoil, etc. Over time, it will become easier for you to forget about your bad habit, and, finally, it will disappear completely.
