Physically speaking, color is a waveform of radiation of various lengths. Its perception depends on the physiological characteristics of a person, emotional state, and on the impact of the environment. The perception of the colors of the "hot" spectrum requires a greater expenditure of energy on the perceiver.
Long wave colors are red, orange and yellow. When you look at them, there is an instant stimulating effect on the brain, heart rate and respiration increase. These are active colors.
Shortwave "cold" colors, on the contrary, do not require high energy costs. They have a calming effect. When you look at blue, green, blue in the body, metabolic processes slow down.
Men and women perceive colors differently. Women's eyes have many more stem cells responsible for color perception. Also, the range of perceived colors is wider. Therefore, the average man is less scrupulous when choosing a color.
A small child perceives colors associatively. Bright and light colors are always joy and fun, and “ugly” dark ones are angry and boring.
When choosing a color for a particular purpose, you should always take into account age, gender, social status, psychological characteristics and stereotypes.
