The feeling of anxiety, like fear, is a completely normal state of the body, helping the nervous system to prepare for danger. The problem is that often such an unpleasant feeling arises in situations in which there is no danger or it is far-fetched. Like any feeling, anxiety can be overcome, you just need to master a few tricks.
Instructions
Step 1
Don't get hung up on your actions and failures. What you picture in your imagination very rarely exists in reality. It is necessary to adequately assess your actions, actions and their consequences. You should not be sure of your own infallibility. Everyone makes mistakes, and you make them, no matter how self-confident you are. Instead of an empty experience, it is better to think about how to resolve the current situation and how you can correct the mistake.
Step 2
Don't worry about dreams and hopes. Better concentrate on what is happening in reality.
Step 3
Don't cheat yourself unnecessarily. Feelings of anxiety cannot in themselves cause physical harm. This will only increase the discomfort and will not bring anything positive. Instead of cultivating anxiety, you need to think - is this situation really worth worrying about? If your (or your loved ones) life and health are not in danger, there is no reason to panic. Better think about the situation and how to resolve it.
Step 4
Use breathing exercises. Taking a few deep breaths in and out will help reduce feelings of anxiety.
Step 5
Don't focus on feeling anxious. If the situation does not require an instant solution, then take your mind off it. For example, you are afraid of confined spaces and are stuck in an elevator. You can, of course, give free rein to emotions and start banging your head against the walls. But it's much better to look at the situation logically. If the elevator does not fall and turn into a heap of twisted metal, then nothing threatens you, that is, nothing at all. Relax and wait for the elevator to start working again.
Step 6
Get distracted, think about something extraneous, such as plans for tomorrow, remember a couple of funny stories or anecdotes, etc.
