What is power? This is the ability to influence the behavior of other people, the distribution of material resources. Power is an integral part of any society. Without it, no more or less reasonable form of the device is inconceivable. Power can be both positive - when it is used primarily for the public good, and negative - when it is used for selfish purposes, or to satisfy purely personal ambitions, for example. How to gain power in a relatively small company (organization), for example?

You should start by becoming a truly indispensable person who is respected by senior management. Do not believe that "there are no irreplaceable". Achieve good results and set yourself even higher goals.

In no case do not limit yourself to performing (albeit flawlessly) your direct official duties. Look for new areas of application for your abilities and talent. Try to do more of what management expects you to do all the time. At least one step, but “be ahead”.

Remember: "Power abhors a vacuum." If you can suggest some new direction, some new area of the company's activity, you will almost certainly be offered to lead it. The more diligence and ability you show, the more power, influence and authority you will acquire.
