Rumors about the imminent end of the world are almost as old as humanity itself. Most are skeptical about such prophecies, but some impressionable people sincerely fear the death of civilization. What needs to be done to stop fearing the apocalypse?

Why won't the end of the world happen?

Humanity has more than once predicted a quick and inevitable death: natural disasters, solar flares, the landing of aggressive-minded inhabitants of another planet, the third world war - there are many options. Mass media often artificially draw undue attention to this topic, using meaningful terms, referring to prophets, calendars of ancient civilizations, revelations of modern "contactees" (people claiming that they communicated with aliens). In principle, there is nothing criminal in this, but many take this kind of prophecy too seriously: they build shelters, sell property for next to nothing, in general, they are afraid of the end of the world.

It is paradoxical that the Maya Indians, who so frightened humanity with their calendar, could not foresee the death of their own civilization.

In order not to panic after another prediction, you can just look into history. Humanity, according to various prophets, should have disappeared already about five hundred times: that is how many ends of the world were predicted. Nevertheless, the world has not gone anywhere, there are more and more people on Earth, therefore, obviously, the apocalyptic predictions did not come true. Therefore, there is no reason to believe that the following prophecy will turn out to be true. Add some healthy skepticism: almost no doomsday predictor could even foresee their own future, let alone human civilization.

Do not trust charlatans

If you are gullible and impressionable, try to filter the incoming information. The predictions of astrologers, numerologists, arcane magicians and sect leaders are not the information you need. Get data from trusted sources, backed by scientific research, recognized by the global scientific community. Scientists, by the way, do not include graduates of the Academy of Witchcraft and other similar institutions. You should not visit various near-local websites, watch programs announcing the coming apocalypse - why once again give your imagination food for experiences. Remember that the task of most of these programs is not to warn you about the imminent end of the world, but to attract as many viewers as possible for purely commercial reasons.

Doomsday messengers can be guided by a variety of motives, from mental illness to lust for fame and fortune.

But even if we assume for a second that the end of the world is really possible, this is not at all a reason to give up and lose interest in life. On the contrary, you need to strive to live every day as richer, more interesting and brighter as possible, so that you never regret missed opportunities.
