Feelings make a person's life bright and filled with mysterious meaning. The world would not be so beautiful without them. Nevertheless, sometimes people feel the need to get rid of them, to find the answer to the question of how to silence the heart.
Instructions
Step 1
Before you try to learn how to let go of your emotions and pull yourself together, decide if you need it. There are situations in which it is better to experience a feeling, to feel it in all its strength. For example, this should be done if you broke up with your loved one. Give yourself time to think, cry, and everything will work out.
Step 2
If you need to make a serious decision, and the surging feelings do not allow you to do it, then try to drown out the voice of your heart. The most effective way to achieve this goal is to give free rein to the mind, to start reasoning logically. Write down everything that worries you on a piece of paper, set out your thoughts in the form of diagrams, and try to calmly analyze the situation. Find the causes and effects, find out what is connected with your psychological state. You will see, it will become much easier for you.
Step 3
If you cannot calm down, use the old method of achieving psychological balance - meditation. Sit comfortably, concentrate on feeling calm. Try to banish all thoughts from your head, achieve absolute silence, both external and internal. Watch your breathing: it should be measured, even.
Step 4
Take a short walk. Walk slowly through the park. To keep your feelings from bothering you, consider counting steps or memorizing the faces of passers-by. Remember that the main thing is to get distracted, stop thinking about problems.
Step 5
Take a look at yourself from the outside. Imagine that you are not you at all, but some other person. How would you rate his behavior? How do you see it? If you cannot see yourself through the eyes of others, try at least to assess the state of affairs from your point of view. Just do it calmly, without emotion. Remember that everything in this life is temporary, which means that a streak of failures will necessarily be followed by a happy streak.
