What person has never faced laziness at least once in his life? It happens that it is very necessary to immediately do something important and urgent, but some unknown force stops, forcing you to indulge in idleness. Some psychologists, however, argue that there are no lazy people, there are people who have no purpose.

What is laziness? "Disgust from work and occupation, a tendency to parasitism and idleness." This is how Vladimir Dal explained in his explanatory dictionary the meaning of this word. Immediately, a negative image of such a complete lazy person leading an asocial life appears in the mind. And yet, laziness is an integral part of the daily life of many people. It is difficult to meet a person who from time to time would not plunge into a state where he does not want to do anything.

Experts in the field of psychology believe that the so-called laziness is very often explained by just a lack of motivation for a particular type of activity. It is useless to fight this phenomenon with direct methods, "head-on". Moreover, laziness often serves as a kind of "bell" warning a person about overwork and the need to rest, recuperate. In some cases, the state of laziness can be accompanied by physiological disorders: heart problems, surges in blood pressure. This combination of psychological condition and medical symptoms should be the reason for seeking medical attention.

Even if the physical well-being has not deteriorated, the appearance of signs of laziness may indicate the presence of internal resistance related to a particular activity. Sometimes laziness is accompanied by unaccountable feelings of guilt, vague anxiety, or even fear. Analyze what are the causes of the psychological discomfort that has arisen. You may be overly demanding on yourself by taking on work that is beyond your professional competence. Or you resist attempts on the part of people important to you to impose a business that you do not like, contradicts your life attitudes, goals and values.

Learn to set reasonable and achievable goals for yourself. Cases that scare you off with their grandiose scale and seeming impracticability, try to break down into several stages. This fragmentation of activity relieves the internal tension caused by imaginary difficulties associated with the complexity of a particular task. Once you realize that every small step brings you closer to completing your work, there will be no trace of laziness.
