Even in Ancient Russia, people knew about such a painful feeling as melancholy. The Slavs called her green, because they believed that
she comes from a swamp mud, in which malevolent mermaids live.
Longing as a manifestation of depression
Melancholy is one of the manifestations of depression, accompanied by a negative and apathetic reaction to everything around. It can appear out of nowhere, for example, in a person who is happily married and successful in work, and constant stress is to blame. In Ancient Russia, melancholy was called "green", as they believed that this feeling comes from a swamp with dark green mud, in which virgins live, making people feel negative emotions. This expression is still used today, personifying mental suffering and a complete lack of desire for any action. Melancholy is one of the most terrible feelings, which, according to psychologists, can even become one of the reasons for suicide. In a mild form, it is absolutely harmless, it is common for a person to sometimes feel sad about something, immerse himself in his thoughts, yearn for his home, loved one, etc. However, it is very important that this feeling does not become systematic and does not develop into a prolonged depression, which is not so easy to get out of without the help of specialists.
Melancholic people are most susceptible to melancholy, as well as people who systematically experience experiences for any reason. To get rid of it, you need to communicate more with people and not get immersed in negative thoughts.
Opinions of Tibetan doctors
Tibetan doctors believe that melancholy is the first sign of gallbladder disease, biliary dyskinesia, which can lead to sudden outbursts of anger and even a state of self-destruction. They also declare that at present, this green "monster" increasingly began to be exposed to children who are faced with a lack of understanding of parents, peers and teachers. In Tibetan philosophy, melancholy is called not just green, but brown-green or dark green, which is associated with a powerful charge of negative energy that this feeling conceals in itself. Some experts associate temporary influxes of melancholy with the influence of the planets, for example, Monday is the day of the moon, Tuesday is Mars, etc.
To get rid of melancholy, Tibetan monks recommend washing your hair with a raster motherwort or Chernobyl, which is popularly called the "tree of God."
How to get rid of melancholy
To get rid of the painful melancholy feeling, you need to diversify your leisure time, for example, start a new hobby, expand your social circle, etc. The main thing is not to withdraw into yourself, not to be alone with negative thoughts. Alternative medicine recommends eating a spoonful of poppy seeds or drinking a tincture of field nettle or horsetail to drive away the melancholy. But the truly "green" day is Friday, which is subject to Mercury. On this day, it is recommended to mentally send love to everyone, look at emeralds, green grass and leaves, so as not to give longing the slightest chance.
