Fetishism is an irresistible attraction, often of a sexual nature, to a wide variety of animate and inanimate objects, items of clothing, and parts of the body. The fetishist worships in front of a specific object, he knows exactly what attracts and excites him.
The name "fetishism" comes from the Portuguese word "feitiсo", meaning "magic", and the French "fetiche" - "talisman", and for the first time this term was used by the Dutch traveler V. Bossman at the beginning of the 18th century. at the dawn of civilization, when any objects - a weapon, a spear, a simple stone - could serve as protection and a means of survival in difficult conditions. In those days, any object of an unusual shape that struck the imagination of an ancient man could become a fetish. Its owner carefully guarded his talisman from the gaze of others, carefully guarded and connected with it the fulfillment of his innermost desires. Each fetishist has his own, sometimes very original "fad": someone cannot resist beautiful lingerie, someone is irresistible pulls to body parts. Often even plants, animals or architectural structures are the subject of a fetish. Perhaps the most common form of fetishism is arousal from the sight of a woman's feet. Moreover, what is important, the attention of the fetishist is focused precisely on the feet, heels, toes, but the legs as such are already of much less interest. At the same time, the fetishist experiences the greatest excitement at the sight of naked feet, preferably not washed, so that you can smell their owner. A foot fetish includes everything that is somehow connected with women's feet: stockings, revealing high-heeled shoes that cover the foot with only a pair of thin leather straps. The most famous foot fetishists were the legendary Giacomo Casanova, Goethe, Elvis Presley, Francis Scott and the notorious Quentin Tarantino. An animated fetish refers to a certain type of partner's appearance. Some men may experience sexual arousal only at the sight of Asian women, while others fall into ecstasy at the sight of long natural golden curls. By the way, it would be a mistake to enroll only men in the slender ranks of fetishists. Women also have some kind of addiction, and the most common is the fetish of strength and masculinity. Such women will "sink" only on a certain type of man - a macho, who, by their appearance and behavior, will correspond to their fetish. Fetishism has existed at all times, and there is nothing reprehensible in the fact that a person is attached to something. Only the most extreme manifestation of fetishism, which prevents a person from leading a normal, fulfilling life, can be considered a pathology.
