Unfortunately, everyone can become a victim of a crime. Even if you are very careful and avoid crime zones, you are not immune to attacks. The confidence that you can handle this too will help you stay calm and possibly save more than just your health or even your life.
Instructions
Step 1
Remember that most crimes are committed for material gain. Most often, the attacker wants to get your money, bank cards and other valuables and get away from the crime scene as quickly as possible. Do whatever he asks you to do quickly and without disagreement. The faster the robbery ends, the faster you will be safe. There are no such things that cost your health, remember this. None of the most expensive earrings or watches can replace your lungs, eyes or kidneys. And even more so, there is no subject comparable to yours or someone else's life.
Step 2
Don't look the robber in the face. If the attacker is not wearing a disguise, he may be afraid that you will remember him and then recognize him, he may be nervous, and your direct gaze will only irritate him. Do not raise your eyes above his torso. At the same time, try to remember the characteristic features - weight, height, what he is wearing, whether he has an accent, whether he has the correct speech. Focusing on the signs of a burglar will help you stay calm and keep your mind busy. The glances you throw at him should be quick and subtle, never meet his eyes.
Step 3
Talk to your attacker politely and a little guiltily, as if he is your best customer and upset with a purchase or contract. Do not take a condescending tone, do not be offended by insults, be above them, do not react to provocations, remember that the offender so “warms up” himself, and do not give him a reason to go to direct violence.
Step 4
Resist the urge to fight or run. Your resistance or flight can cause the attacker to move to a new level of aggression, and he can lose control of himself. Move to active resistance only when you or those who are with you are in real danger of physical violence. If you have approved protective equipment - a stun gun, pepper spray, and the like - take them out only when you are fully confident that you can use them quickly and without hesitation. Only raise the alarm when you are sure that you are not in danger. Calling for help and the perpetrator panics may result in him using physical force or weapons.
Step 5
If you are attacked indoors, do not stop the burglar from leaving it. There is no need to try to detain the thief, it is better to be safe faster and call the law enforcement agencies. Remember that the actors fighting the bandits in the movies have stunt doubles, and you don't.
