Psychology is faced with difficult tasks, because a person cannot see thoughts, cannot see feelings and images that arise in the minds of other people. He can learn about all this only indirectly - by words, facial expressions or by behavior. The main sphere of interest of psychology includes: the ability to interpret mental phenomena, understand their essence, classify them, determine their functioning and the laws to which they obey. In addition, in psychology, there is also the task of the ability to control these phenomena and their effective use in practice.

Using mental phenomena as a basis, psychology studies how a person is affected by the state of his body, as well as various external influences (for example, it can be nature or society). However, this is not the only area in which psychology is concerned. The second most important task facing her is to clarify the possible connections between the psyche and actions, which makes it possible to explain human behavior from a scientific point of view and shed light on the behavior of animals.

It should also be said that thanks to the laws established by psychology in the field of cognitive processes (and these are sensations and perception, imagination, thinking and memory), the process of mastering certain skills, knowledge and abilities has been significantly facilitated. In addition, thanks to knowledge in the field of these patterns, psychology also helps to influence various areas of human life. For example, on the development and education of the individual, on her professional motivation and the improvement of relations in the team.

It should be noted that a characteristic feature of modern psychology is its convergence with other sciences. Due to this, it has many ramifications, which may differ significantly from each other, but at the same time have the same subject of research - the mechanisms of action of the psyche and its laws. That is why today psychology is divided into several dozen special sciences. So, for example, its varieties such as engineering psychology, space and aviation bring psychology closer to technical disciplines. While social psychology is closely related to various social and social sciences.
