Everyone has had nightmares, and every time people want to know where these dreams come from. Usually, nightmares do not indicate a serious problem, but if unpleasant dreams have become regular, specialist help is needed.
Instructions
Step 1
There is a big difference between nightmares and fears. Nightmares occur during REM sleep. The plots are intricate and unrealistic. Therefore, a person easily wakes up, remembers the plot in detail, but no longer experiences fear of a nightmare.
Step 2
Fears, on the other hand, appear during deep sleep, an hour after falling asleep. During this period, a person rarely sees dreams. Such dreams are short and clear, while in the morning a person will not remember the plot of such a short terrible dream.
Step 3
Terrible dreams are rare. But if unpleasant dreams become more frequent, they can destroy the psyche and cause health problems.
Step 4
The most common cause of nightmares is stressful situations - problems at work, conflicts in the family, financial difficulties, concern for loved ones. If no clear cause is identified, you may have been taking sedatives, antidepressants, or drugs. Therefore, before taking any drugs, consult your doctor to rule out possible consequences.
Step 5
Also, nightmares can be caused by general malaise, high fever, or certain diseases.
Step 6
Do not drink alcohol at night, do not eat too densely, exclude intellectual activity and computer games in the evening. Better drink a glass of warm milk.
Step 7
Your sleeping place may not suit you. Go to sleep in another room or move the bed.
Step 8
If you cannot cope with the problems on your own, seek help from specialists.
