It happens that claims are completely unfounded, but it is almost impossible to stop the flow of accusations and insults. What to do in such a situation? To get out of the situation with dignity, you need to take control of your emotions.

Step 1
Don't interrupt your opponent. Silently listen to all his claims, without trying to insert a word. Most likely, the accuser expects a backlash from you: emotions, attempts to justify yourself and defend your point of view. However, you should not maintain a given tone of communication and go to higher tones. Calmly listen to all claims, even if they are completely unfounded.
Step 2
Use your imagination to stay cool. It is not so easy to withstand a hail of accusations, let your own imagination help you. There are many popular methods to regain self-confidence and fend off an opponent's mental attack. For example, imagine that there is a thick glass wall between you: your opponent's words beat against it and fly back. Try to detail the obstacle as much as possible, think over its color and texture.
Step 3
Less humane subjects can also be used. For example, pour an imaginary bucket of ice water over the head of the enemy or throw a trash can on it. In any case, each of these methods allows for distraction and less painful perception of accusations and attacks.
Step 4
Take the floor. This should only be done when the interlocutor has finished his tirade. In no case do not make excuses, starting your speech with the phrases "You misunderstood …", "It was not me …", etc. If you really made a mistake, then do not be afraid to openly admit your mistake. But, of course, you shouldn't take the blame of others.
Step 5
Avoid replying to insults in kind. If your opponent can't calm down and move on to a constructive conversation, refuse to continue the conversation in a similar tone and promise to talk later.

However, this tactic is not always possible to afford. For example, in the office of a boss who is too harshly reprimanding you for any mistake, you will have to patiently listen to an angry speech from start to finish. In this case, do not lose confidence in yourself and your own righteousness, persistently but politely defending your opinion.
