Conflict situations can negatively affect future relationships between people. However, it is within your power to ensure that communication with your colleagues is restored.
Unfortunately, conflict situations happen both at home and at work. They occur for many reasons: because of a clash of interests, misunderstandings, personal hostility and banal fatigue of the participants in the quarrel. If a scandal cannot be avoided, think about how to restore relationships with colleagues or partners who were participants in the conflict.
Make sure the conflict is settled. If you have a falling out with one of your colleagues, clarify the situation. It is good if everyone managed to fulfill their own interests. Then the situation will level out by itself over time. When you or your opponent has suffered because of a conflict situation, resentment and discontent can figure in your relationship with your colleague for a long time.
Try to find a compromise. Really irreconcilable situations are rare. Find a solution that will make all stakeholders more or less satisfied. By the way, it is better to decide some points for the head of the department in which you work. If this is the area of responsibility of your superiors, you do not have to puzzle over how to reconcile everyone.
After the storm has passed, you should not specifically return to the cause of the conflict. Understand that the topic is over. Do not start an argument over who is right and who is wrong. Manage to let go of the situation and return to the previous mode of operation. The sooner you and your colleagues get back on track, the sooner your quarrel will be forgotten.
If during the dispute you did not restrain yourself and became personal, offended some of your colleagues, touched someone's sense of dignity, spoke unflatteringly about the professional qualities of some of the employees, find the strength to admit your own guilt and apologize to the person. Explain that you have nothing against a specific person and that you have said too much under the influence of negative emotions.
Behave as usual. Help colleagues, ask for advice yourself, solve work issues together. Joint work should unite you again into a single team with the same goals. If other employees see that you do not attach much importance to the quarrel and are ready to renew the old relationship, they too can meet you halfway.
After a scandal, you should not continue to escalate the situation, whisper with someone in the corners and spread gossip. Firstly, from the outside it is much more noticeable to others than you might think, and it does not look very nice and decent. Secondly, this will only aggravate the situation. If you want to work in a relaxed environment, behave with dignity.
