Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a behavioral and neurological disorder with symptoms that first appear at school age. As a rule, this syndrome disappears by the time a person grows up, but in some cases it accompanies him throughout his life.

Step 1
The study of attention deficit disorder is a relatively young direction in science. Therefore, there are no clear diagnostic criteria for ADHD yet. But there are a number of signs that make you think that the presence of the syndrome may take place. All these signs are symptoms of the disorder only if they appear in different places (at home, at school, visiting relatives), significantly reduce the child's ability to adapt to life. Boys have this disorder much more often than girls. Among them, the number of children with ADHD syndrome, as a rule, is 3-9 times more.
Step 2
Inattention. A child with attention deficit disorder, as its name suggests, is unable to concentrate on one activity for a long time. It is difficult for him to teach lessons, he cannot always watch a film or program to the end. He is distracted by any trifle, which immediately draws all the attention to himself. Due to the inability to keep important things in focus, such a child sometimes shows absent-mindedness and forgetfulness. He needs to be reminded much more often than his peers about his responsibilities and plans of action.
Step 3
Impulsiveness. Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder may not be consistent. They are too impatient, which manifests itself in many everyday situations. It is hard for them to wait for their turn, they cannot endure while the dish cools down, they grab onto the solution of some problems, without delving into their conditions and without reading the instructions for action to the end. Part of this character trait is emotional instability, sudden mood swings or whims "from scratch." Of course, all children have these qualities to some extent. But in babies with ADHD, they appear more often, on a regular basis.
Step 4
Hyperactivity. Schoolchildren with symptoms of hyperactivity are a big headache for teachers and classmates. Their energy is not always a sign of a behavioral disorder, but in almost all situations, without exception, the child's over-activity adds to his problems in the class. Restlessness, talkativeness, the presence of a large number of "unnecessary movements" such as running around, waving hands, twirling objects in the hands of hyperactive children are manifested so often that they become an obstacle to normal learning and communication with peers.
