Temperament is an individual characteristic of the human nervous system. This is the foundation on which other personality traits are gradually superimposed. These are innate features of the psyche. They can be corrected by education, but they always find their manifestation in critical situations.

Step 1
The most common test for determining temperament is the test by G. Eysenck. The test uses two indicators: introversion-extraversion and neuroticism (stability-instability of the reaction). The severity of these indicators and their combination allows you to determine a person's temperament. The test contains 57 questions about the types of reactions and behavior in certain situations. Required to give answers "yes" and "no". The test results show how 4 classic temperaments are represented in a person in percentage terms.
Step 2
A. Belov's test is the second most popular. It contains two blocks of 20 questions. Each of them contains statements about the behavior inherent in one of the four temperaments. The person needs to answer the questions "yes" or "no". The results of the questionnaire show the percentage of all types of temperament. The highest percentage is obtained, as a rule, two types of temperament. They are the main ones for the person being tested.
Step 3
There are also simplified methods for determining the type of temperament. They offer a minimum number of questions. For example, "rapid temperament test." It includes 4 descriptions of human behavior and emotional reactions. Each of them is characteristic of a certain type of temperament. By choosing one of the descriptions, the person gets the result. You can find an online version of this technique.
Step 4
The test is a formula of temperament. It is based on the fact that temperament depends on the strength of the nervous system. In a sanguine person, nervous processes pass quickly and steadily. In a choleric person, the nervous system is strong and mobile, but unbalanced, while in a melancholic person it is weak and unbalanced. Phlegmatic is characterized by strong, inert and balanced. The test contains statements about the styles of human behavior inherent in each of the four types of systems. There are 4 columns in total. The column with the largest number of affirmative answers indicates the type of temperament of the test taker.
Step 5
There are also professional methods for determining temperament. These are "Temperament and Sociotypes" and "Pavlovsky Questionnaire". Psychologists use them in their professional activities when testing a sample of subjects and in carrying out diagnostic studies. The Pavlov questionnaire, or PTSD, shows the strength of the processes of excitation and inhibition, as well as the stability-instability of the nervous system. The methodology "Temperament and Sociotypes" is aimed at determining the combination of temperament and style of human behavior in society.
