Knowing the rules of conduct is not enough to be considered polite. An educated decent person is distinguished by a manifestation of respect for others, a good-natured attitude and the ability to take into account the interests of other people.
Instructions
Step 1
Communicate with other people the way you want to be treated. Put yourself in the other person's shoes mentally. In most situations, think about others first, and then about yourself, but do not forget about self-esteem. Be attentive to the people around you. Don't humiliate yourself or others.
Step 2
Be nice to people with magic words such as sorry, thank you, please, and reinforce them with your actions. Give way to elders in transport, hold the door, let women and old people pass forward.
Step 3
Keep your word, try to always keep your promises. Do not impose your point of view on others and learn to listen to other people. In case of a dispute, learn to stop in time and change the subject of discussion. Do not meddle in your personal life and do not give advice unless asked to do so. During the conversation, do not raise issues related to nationality and religion. Try not to over-criticize other people. Avoid situations that embarrass others. Know how to apologize and admit your own mistakes.
Step 4
Monitor your speech. Eliminate harsh tone, raised voice, vulgar harsh words from your behavior. Be polite to your relatives. Very often people forget that loved ones deserve special attention.
Step 5
Observe etiquette. Master the rules of good manners at the table, on public transport, in the theater, on the street, in public places. Do not forget about courtesy while driving - give way, do not get irritated or rude, do not use a signal unnecessarily, do not block the road to other drivers in the parking lot. Be hospitable and friendly. At first, control your behavior until good manners become a positive habit.
