There are different forms of psychological teaching work: counseling, seminar, psychotherapy, training, webinar. Each form has its own tasks and characteristics. It is important to be able to understand them in order to correctly select a suitable form for yourself.

Psychological training is.

Let us analyze in detail each part of this definition in order to form a holistic image of such a form of psychological work as training.

Being active in the training assumes that you, as a participant, are actively involved in the work, namely, perform exercises and tasks (on your own, in pairs or in a group), and as a result you receive feedback from the trainer. Only if this condition is met will you be able to develop a new skill. If the "coach" only talks about something, but does not offer you to test the information in practice, or if the coach simply accepts your assignments, but does not comment on them in any way, does not help you to see your work from the outside, then at best you are on seminar or lecture, at worst - to a charlatan. In this case, you may receive knowledge, but the skill will not.

The main goal of the training is to develop skills. Before you go to any training, you should imagine in advance what you will learn there. In the announcement of his event, the coach must indicate this: for example, etc. Of course, in addition to the skill, as a result of the training, you will learn a lot: about the topic that interested you, and about yourself (and this is the most interesting!), And about other people. But this is rather an intermediate and auxiliary result. The main one is the acquisition of a new useful psychological skill.

The skills that you will gain as a result of psychological training will relate to interacting with other people or with yourself. What kind of interaction this will be depends on the topic of the training. For example,

  • if you want to visit, you will acquire the skills you need to effectively interact with customers;
  • if you go to, then there you will learn general techniques for effective interaction with people, regardless of specific situations;
  • if you liked it, it means that as a result of the training program you will learn the skills and techniques of this personal growth (here we are talking about interacting with yourself).

Training is never short. If you are offered a program for 2, 3, 5 hours, this is not training. During this time, it is impossible to develop a socio-psychological skill. Unless you can manage to immerse yourself in the topic and test your attitude towards it in practice. Good training work lasts about 20-30 hours (2-4 days), sometimes longer, depending on the complexity of the skill that the trainer teaches.
