Responsibility is one of the most important social skills, and irresponsibility is one of the greatest vices. Like many other skills and abilities, responsibility must be developed, and if it is not there, then it must be nurtured.
Instructions
Step 1
Realize that responsibility is very important for life in society, as it can significantly improve your life and help you become a full-fledged author of your actions, decisions and your life.
Step 2
Learn from mistakes, it doesn't matter if they will be your own or someone else's. The main thing is to gain valuable experience from defeats and develop the most worthy behaviors.
Step 3
Several times a day ask yourself a question about what you could do at the moment and what opportunities you have for this. After that, think about what you should do right now to feel more responsible for your actions.
Step 4
Each time, faced with a difficult choice or trouble, think about what you would do if at this moment there was a person next to you whom you trust and whom you love (mother, father, brother or sister, friend)? This will help you make the most correct decision.
Step 5
Regularly write down on a piece of paper a few things that need to be done, but you absolutely don't feel like doing it. Also determine what the penalty will be for not doing these things. To make it easier, you can make a promise, for example, to your parents, boss, or friend. As a punishment for not doing something, you can, for example, pay them a certain amount.
Step 6
Admit your mistakes and write them down daily. Also write down the reasons why you did not fulfill your obligations. For each of the mistakes, assign yourself additional tasks or a certain fee (this does not have to be financial expenses, for example, it can be the time that you can allocate for good deeds). Do not forget to record your successes and achievements as well.
Step 7
In the process of developing a sense of what situation in oneself, how much responsibility must be taken on.
