The game helps a person to become free and know himself deeper. Under any way, two fundamental facets are hidden: the appearance of the hero and his inner state. The environment in which the character is located also plays an important role.
Instructions
Step 1
Examine the situation in which your character will act. Much depends on the event context: outfit, presentation style, active vocabulary. Assess what behavior would be appropriate for your character, what words he can use, and with what intonation to pronounce them. For example, the count will behave intelligently, speak slowly and, perhaps, slightly dismissive and arrogant.
Step 2
Consider the character's costume. It should organically blend into the background of the social environment and at the same time demonstrate your personality. If you play a person who goes against the opinion of society, choose the appropriate environment. Start from the character of your hero, his aspirations, outlook on life. Who is he - an active revolutionary or a romantic dreamer? A seductive Don Juan or a soft tactful intellectual? To really get into the image, you need to put together a lot of defining little things. Consider makeup and accessories as well.
Step 3
Imagine how the hero's voice should sound. Think about what intonations are characteristic for him, how his facial expressions and gestures will differ. Speech can be fluid and intermittent, lively and monotonous, calm and agitated. Build a speech appearance based on what events preceded the monologue, what idea you want to convey to the audience, what emotions the speech can be filled with.
Step 4
An extremely important aspect of a character is his inner state. Dissolve yourself in the image of a hero, try on his personality traits. Depict the character's experiences in an exaggerated, grotesque way. If it is joy, let it be unrestrained; if melancholy, show world sorrow. Grotesque will be a great workout for you.
Step 5
Rehearse to get comfortable with the image you are playing. Repeat the lines of the hero, you can even mentally, to yourself. Close your eyes and act out a scene. It is helpful to “review” the script before bed. Try to work out the character's gait, enter the image during normal walks. It is interesting to fantasize that it is not you who are going to the store, but Napoleon himself. Just be careful not to get distracted from real life until you lose your bearings.
Step 6
The ability to enter the image helps in various life situations. So, sometimes you need to show self-confidence, will and firmness, and sometimes play a riddle, flirtatiousness, gaiety. It is especially useful to get used to images for timid and shy people. Be the person you want to be, and when you feel insecure, firmly say to yourself: “I am an actor! This is a game! . There are no winners here, but you can easily lose by succumbing to your weaknesses and retreating.
