It's good that each person always has a choice, but sometimes it can be very difficult to make the right decision. As a rule, the complexity of the choice is due to the fact that sometimes it is very difficult to predict the result of our actions, and as a result, doubts arise about which option is correct. To make such doubts less likely, you need to adhere to some simple rules:

How to choose the right solution

1. Think about what you really want. When we perform some action, we strive to satisfy our desires, but it also happens that the desires of other people are taken as “ours”. According to this principle, we buy well-advertised goods in supermarkets, which are located near the checkout. And only then we think about whether we really wanted to buy it.

2. Weigh all the pros and cons. Divide a piece of paper into two columns. Name one column "cons" and the other "pluses". Imagine what positive and negative consequences can come if you choose a specific option. Write down all the options that come to your mind, and it is possible that one of the columns significantly outweighs the other.

3. Consider the ultimate goal. Usually, puzzling over what to do, we roughly imagine the consequences of a choice. Therefore, when making a decision, you need to understand whether these consequences will contribute to the achievement of the ultimate goal. For example, the dilemma “to call or not to call” is easily resolved depending on the purpose. If the goal is to communicate with a person, then you need to call. If you need to find out if this person wants to talk to you, then you should wait.

4. Prioritize. It so happens that we need to make several decisions or perform a number of actions, and for this we need to understand what to do first and what last. First of all, you always need to do what is very important, but easily doable; secondly, what is very important and difficult to accomplish; in the third, it is not very important and easy to do; and finally, unimportant and difficult to do. For schoolchildren, for example, it is advisable to first do their homework, then sort out the missing material, then take a walk on the street and, finally, try to pass a difficult level in a computer game.

5. Use lots. The lot will not so much indicate the correct choice as will push the person towards an independent decision. Often, the decision is already subconsciously chosen, and if the coin suggests the option that you least want, you can always flip it over.

6. Remember that if you still cannot choose what to do, then you have already made a decision to leave everything as before.
